John Rex Elementary School students recently joined OKC Beautiful in a hands-on tree planting event, where nine trees were donated and planted on their school grounds. During interactive lessons, students learned about the benefits of trees, the parts of a tree and their functions, and the proper techniques for planting and caring for trees.
This event is part of OKC Beautiful’s Tree OKC program, which, since its launch in 2022, has added over 3,500 trees to Oklahoma City's canopy through plantings, distribution events, and educational initiatives. As a nonprofit organization, OKC Beautiful oversees more than a dozen community programs aimed at creating a more beautiful and sustainable Oklahoma City for all.
