downtown classroom

One of the most unique things about attending John Rex Charter Schools is the location.

Our students go to school in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City — surrounded by businesses, museums, civic institutions, construction projects, arts organizations, nonprofits, parks, and people doing interesting work every day.

We believe that matters.

Learning becomes more powerful when students can see how the concepts they encounter in school connect to the world around them. A lesson about engineering can connect to a building rising a few blocks away. A discussion about civic life can connect to the institutions that help our city function. Art, entrepreneurship, science, history, technology, and mathematics can all become more tangible when students can see them in action.

That is why we often say downtown is more than our address.

Downtown is part of our educational model.

As John Rex continues to grow, we are working to create even more opportunities for students to learn with and from the city around them.

Our goal is simple: students shouldn't have to wait until adulthood to experience the real world.

At John Rex, the real world is right outside our doors.
