Earlier this week, our Pre-K class read The Gingerbread Man and talked about how he gets stuck at the river with a sneaky fox waiting for him. The students thought he deserved a safer escape route, so we designed boats from recyclable materials and tested them out. Lots of giggles and creative ideas filled our room!

Today our 3rd graders took part in a Balloon-Over-Broadway gallery walk, celebrating each other’s creativity and cheering one another on. 🥰🎈 Watching them lift each other up was the perfect reminder of what this season is all about—gratitude, kindness, and community. Wishing all of our families a warm and happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🍁

Today, our 8th grade students participated in our class NBA Math Hoops Draft! NBA Math Hoops is a board game that incorporates real life NBA and WNBA stats along with some basic math fluency skills. Today, each student team "drafted" their 5 NBA/WNBA players to make up their team for the season! We celebrated with snacks (mostly spicy chips, because they're middle schoolers haha) and wearing our favorite jerseys!

In November, our Rockets were very busy in Spanish class learning about Día de los Muertos. They learned how Mexico and Guatemala celebrate this beautiful tradition, and we also set up an Altar in our room to remember and honor our loved ones. 1st Grade: Learned about the Giant Kites Festival in Guatemala and made their own kites. 2nd Grade: Created mini-books about the holiday. 3rd Grade: Learned about the symbol of La Catrina. 4th Grade: Tried pan de muerto and made origami altars. 5th & 6th Grade: Researched the elements of the altar, made posters, and presented their work.

Our Lost and Found is piling up :)
Each of our campuses has items ready to be picked up.
If you have time, stop by before break and pick up your missing items. This is also a reminder to use a sharpie and add student names to the tag :)

Kindergarten’s City Bus Visit! 🚌
Our kindergarteners love spotting the city bus driving around downtown, so we were extra excited to invite the team out for a visit! They taught us all about how city buses help people in our community get where they need to go. We loved learning about the important role they play in keeping our city connected!
